Trial Lessons
Trial gliding lesson vouchers are the ideal gift for friends or family whatever the occasion. Take a trial lesson with us and watch the beautiful Northumbrian countryside roll on beneath you as you take the controls with our British Gliding Association rated instructor watching you all the way.
There are two types of trial lesson of which you can choose. These are the Winch Launch and The Aerotow. The winch launch usually lasts between 5 to 10 minutes on a normal day but can last up to half and hour when the weather is very good. The Aerotow usually lasts about 15 minutes from 2000 ft. but as already mentioned, it can last longer depending on conditions.

*Includes 28 days trial membership to the club where by you can come back any flying day and fly at club rates.
How do I go about buying a voucher and booking a flight?
Vouchers come in the form of a gift certificate with the voucher attached plus a letter
explaining how to make a booking. A leaflet on the club and its activities is also included.
The vouchers are valid for a period of 13 months but because of weather constraints we are
not able to take forward bookings for the actual flight. What happens, quite simply, is that
you pick a good day, Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday. Call the club to see if we are flying
and that the weather conditions are suitable. Hopefully it will be and we will invite you to
the club for your flight. There may some short delay at busy times with our members flying
but we try and give priority to visitors.
