Welcome to Currock Hill, home of the Northumbria Gliding Club for 42 years.
The club owns approximately 88 acres of land, high above the Tyne Valley. In fact the airfield is 800 feet above sea level and has commanding views towards the Pennines and Tyne Valley to the West, the Cheviot Hills to the North with Tyneside and North Sea Coast to the East.

We launch from our grass airfield by using our "Skylaunch" Winch and Piper Pawnee 235 for Aerotow operations and we are open on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays. Flying takes place from around 9:00AM and finishes usually about sunset.
Whether you are new to gliding or already have some hours under your belt, please take a look around our website and see what fantastic facilities we have to offer you. Use the links on the left hand side to navigate your way around the site, where you will find all the latest news from around the club, information on trial lessons, all about the club fleet and much more.

Hope we see you soon on the flying field!
